DESCRIPTION:Cultural Resources\nBackground on federal protection of cultural resources and historic properties on Allatoona Lake.  Examples of properties protected at Allatoona Lake under the Historic Properties Management Plan.\n\nChris Purvis is the Lead Ranger for the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers at Allatoona Lake.  He manages the Partnership\, Volunteer and Public Awareness Programs for USACE\, a position he has been in since 2015.  He came to Allatoona in 2005 after starting his career with the USACE at Lake Ouachita in Hot Springs\, AR.  He has also previously worked for the National Park Service at Prince William Forest Park in Triangle\, VA.  He has a B.S. in History from Georgia State University.\n\nDate: 23 May 2023\nTime: 7:00 – 8:15 pm ET\nLocation: First Presbyterian Church\, 189 Church Street\, Marietta\, GA (hybrid)
