So You Think You’re Canadian, Eh? A Genealogical Journey Through the Great White North presented by Cathie McCabe MBA, PLCGS

Could your brick wall ancestor be hiding in Canada? Many ancestral trails weave themselves in and out of what is now Canada, the second largest country in the world. Learn about the important genealogical resources for Canada, her provinces, and territories, where these resources are held, and how to access them.

Cathie McCabe has been researching her own family history for over 35 years. A quarter century ago, she left her home and native land, Canada, arriving in Cobb County, Georgia, where she’s been ever since. In 2010, she was surprised to find out she’s a descendant of several Mayflower passengers. Using an 18th century diary and a combination of land, probate, township, and church records, Cathie proved her descendancy from Stephen Hopkins just in time for the 400th anniversary of the voyage of the Mayflower. In 2022, she earned her Professional Learning Certificate in Genealogical Studies, with distinction, in both American Records and Canadian Records.
