Topic: People of the Kennesaw City Cemetery
Description: Located in the heart of Downtown Kennesaw, the historic Kennesaw City Cemetery dates back to the 1860s. With almost 1,600 residents, it is home to countless individuals whose impact on North Cobb can still be felt. This presentation examines the stories of several residents, including former mayors, veterans, the town doctor, and local social leaders. Along with these sometimes surprising stories, the methods used to research them will also be shared.
Speaker: Andrew Bramlett
Andrew Bramlett is the vice president of the Cobb County Genealogical Society and a student at Kennesaw State University. He has volunteered at the Kennesaw City Cemetery for almost a decade and has developed several tours highlighting its notable residents. Andrew is active in a number of other local organizations, including the Kennesaw Historic Preservation Commission and the Friends of Kennesaw Mountain.
